CORRECTION

+ CORRECTION - In the e-mail sent out Monday, I incorrectly announced there would be a town hall meeting in Crescent this Thursday evening. The meeting will be next month, more on that later.

+ VERY IMPORTANT - Many national conservative leaders are hastily

organizing a rally for this Thursday November 5th 2009, 12 noon on the steps of the United States Capitol. On such short notice, I doubt many from Oklahoma will be able to attend. The process and vote on Pelosi’s socialized medicine legislation will take place on Thursday and Friday.

I have been surprised there has not been an effort made to have American citizens call, fax or e-mail their personal U.S.

Representatives. Far more people will be able to contact their Representative in one of those methods than attend this rally. What is needed is for the volume to be so great that the system is shut down.

Please pay close attention: All 5 Oklahoma Representatives, John Sullivan, Dan Boren, Frank Lucas, Tom Cole and Mary Fallin are ALREADY going to vote against this legislation. However, we still need to call them on Thursday and Friday and urge them to vote against the legislation. First, that will add to the volume of contacts in Washington and hopefully help shut down the system. That kind of an outpouring will serve notice that an angry populous has not gone to sleep. Second that will give ammunition to our elected officials to speak about how many citizens don’t want this legislation.

My promise to everyone on this e-mail list is; that I will NOT ask you to contact your elected officials unless it is really important. It is my hope, that when I do urge people to call, that they will respond.

Now is the time, all of the rallies and tea parties that we have had dating back to February were pointed to this Thursday and Friday in the House. If it passes the House, then we will have to fight even harder in the Senate, probably next week. Please make your contacts starting Thursday, and call again on Friday. I have been urging folks to get that contact information handy and ready to use. Now is the time.

One more announcement, One week from this Thursday on November 12th, Mr. Art Thompson, CEO of the John Birch Society will be in OKC for a stop on a 20 city tour. The title of his talk will be, EXPOSING TERRORISM - INSIDE THE TERROR TRIANGLE. The location will be the Character First Conference Center, 520 West Main in downtown OKC. The cost to attend is $10 for adults or $5 for students with the time being 7:30 p.m.. For more information call (405) 348-9991. Tickets will also be available at the OCPAC meetings over the next 2 Wednesdays.
