+ AGENDA FOR THIS WEEK’S MEETING

Our 12 noon luncheon for Wednesday August 26th, will be held at Italiano’s restaurant, 4801 North Lincoln in OKC. 3 weeks ago we showed the DVD by David Barton dealing with 4 centuries of education in America. This week we will be showing the DVD by Barton entitled, THE ROLE OF PASTORS & CHRISTIANS IN CIVIL GOVERNMENT. A few weeks ago I was having lunch with a pastor who believed the extremes of no involvement by Christians in government was the wrong approach and total involvement was also wrong. Therefore he was interested in finding the proper balance for involvement. The DVD we will show this week will show us that the church played an invaluable role in the struggle for America’s independence. We will see the exciting truths about the efforts of Christians such as Roger Sherman and Charles Thomson and pastors such as the Rev. Dr. Samuel Cooper and the Rev.
Dr. Jonathan Mayhew. It will also examine the Biblical teachings that caused generations of Christians to believe it was their duty to be involved with government. We will see how the actions of a few dedicated Christians changed the course of a nation. I will have copies of this DVD available for folks that want one following the meeting. We will begin the viewing of this 1 hour program at 12:05 so arrive as soon as possible.

+ ANNOUNCEMENTS

DEL CITY AREA - Senator Coburn had to change the location for this town hall meeting to accommodate larger than previously expected crowds. So Tuesday, August 25, the town hall meeting will be located at First Southern Baptist Church, 6400 South Sooner Road. It will start at 4:00 p.m. I always urge Conservatives attend these meetings to set a conservative tone to the meetings, other wise there will be liberals at these meetings asking for government to gime, gime gime some more.

SOUTHWESTERN LOGAN COUNTY AND NORTH EDMOND - There will be a state and county government town hall meeting on Tuesday, August 25th, 7:00 p.m. at Waterloo Road Baptist Church, 3100 East Waterloo. Guest speakers will be State Senators Clark Jolley, Randy Brogdon, State Representative Jason Murphey and District 1 County Commissioner Mark Sharpton. The discussion will range from “state’s rights” to county roads and anything else in between. Come meet these elected officials and bring your best questions.

EDMOND AND MOORE - Thursday evening August 27th there will be a meeting in both Edmond and Moore which will feature an introduction to activism through the John Birch Society. Both meetings start at 7:00 p.m. with the Edmond location being Fairview Baptist Church, on the Southeast corner of the intersection of Sooner Road and Danforth. The Moore location will be at the public library, 225 South Howard. These are excellent opportunities to find out information about the John Birch Society and some of its ideas to return this nation back to constitutional principles.

OKLAHOMA CITY AREA - This Saturday, August 29th there will be a 3 hour professionally produced television documentary presented about the difficult problem of human trafficking of children for sex slaves.
Russian-speaking, Chinese/Asian and Spanish speaking, as well as African young women, young boys and children are a very high percentage of victims of human trafficking. However, most Americans do not realize that our own daughters and sons are also being kidnapped, drugged, starved, beaten, horribly used and killed or left to die.
They are also trafficked from state to state and abroad as victims of a fast growing local, national and international trade. Because Oklahoma is at the crossroads of the nation, the problem is rising rapidly here at home. In addition to the documentary, Linda Caswell, State Representative Rebecca Hamilton, an OKC police officer and Marilyn Hogue will answer questions. The program will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the location being the Character First Center, located at
524 West Main in downtown OKC. There is no charge to attend. For more information, contact Linda Caswell at hadassah08house@yahoo.com.

+ OCPAC MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

We are currently at 197 dues paying members, just 7 short of breaking our all time record of 203 members. The really good news is that I have 2 people willing to put up $600 for a matching membership challenge. For every person (up to 12 new members) who join OCPAC on or before September 16th, they will donate $50. It is amazing to realize that we have members from all over the state, people who may never or rarely be able to attend one of our meetings. However, they understand that we use our dues monies to elect candidates or support conservative incumbents from anywhere in the state and as such their support is helping to make Oklahoma a more conservative state. If you have not joined as yet, please consider doing so now, this will probably be the last matching challenge we will have this year. Help us break our record and build a war chest to keep pushing this state toward more efficient and smaller government as well as find candidates who will stand up for Judeo/Christian values. Instructions on how to join will follow my sign off.

+ THE DEMOCRAT’S TRIAL BALLOON ON HEALTH CARE CO-OPS?

With the “public option” (government subsided insurance, designed to destroy private insurance companies) running into stiff opposition, they floated a trial balloon to see if the American public would sucker into the idea of a phony government run co-op plan. Health care co-ops are already in existence and we don’t need the government trying to get in to that concept.

There may be several of these co-ops in operation, the main one I am familiar with, I believe is called Christian Medi-Share. I am not an expert on the plans, but I believe they generally operate with the members voting each year to adjust the amount paid by each family each month and the number of problems they will cover.
Rather than pay into an insurance company, these plans have each member send their monthly payment directly to a member who has been approved to have their medical bills paid. To be a member, you must be a Christian who attends church at least 3 times per month, would drink in moderation only, doesn’t smoke and has a pastor who would sign off on any claims. This is a non-profit co-op of members who pay much less each month to protect themselves from the many health problems we may encounter as we go through life. I believe these non-insurance company co-ops work well and is just one more proof that people in the private sector can solve their problems locally. Any idea that will come out of Washington with the Democrats in charge will be bad for the productive members of society and for America at large.

+ BOREN, SLICED AND DICED BY HOUCHEN

I just received this video of Congressman Dan Boren’s town hall meeting in Pryor a couple of weeks back. It is well worth the 3 or so minutes to view it. Don’t fall for the military funding as a reason for funding the IMF. Vote against a bill like that first then make them bring it back without the objectionable funding. Check out http://www.houchenforcongress.com/main.html.

I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday. (I will have to publish the conservative index scores of House members next week, I just didn’t have time this week.)

+ ANNOUNCEMENTS

MOORE AREA - The Moore group of Educators of Liberty will meet at the Moore public library, 225 South Howard on Monday evening August 17th from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Educators of Liberty was created to inform individuals of their shared stake in defending their unalienable rights against abuse. Each of us has the responsibility as sovereign citizens to gain enough political and economic education to make correct choices.

On Monday evening they will show part 1 of 3 in a DVD series titled The Money Masters. It is a historical document that traces the origins of the political power structure. The modern political power structure has its roots in the hidden manipulation and accumulation of gold and other forms of money. The development of fractional reserve banking practices in the 17th century brought to a cunning sophistication of secret techniques initially used by goldsmiths to fraudulently accumulate wealth. With the formation of the privately-owned Bank of England in 1694, the yoke of economic slavery to a privately-owned “central” bank was first forced upon the backs of an entire nation, not removed but only made heavier with the passing of the three centuries to our day. Nation after nation has fallen prey to this cabal of international central bankers.

TULSA AREA - On Monday evening August 17th, Representative John Wright will be speaking at the Six O’clock Women’s Club which meets at Cowboy Sarkies, 5840 South Memorial in Tulsa. Dinner starts at 6 and the program begins at 7:00 p.m.. Representative Wright is running for Lt. Governor, it is time to get out and hear the candidates, find out what they stand for and ask them questions.

McALESTER, MUSKOGEE & PRYOR - This Tuesday August 18th, U.S.

Representative Dan Boren, Oklahoma’s only Congressional Democrat will hold his only town hall meetings during their August break. He will be at the Thompson Auditorium in McAlester starting at 8:00 a.m. He will then travel to the Muskogee Civic Center for an 11:30 a.m. meeting.

Following that meeting, he will travel to the Pryor Mid America Expo Center for a meeting scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. If you live anywhere near these areas go to these meetings to let him know what you think about his performance as your Congressman.

+ OKLAHOMA STATE SENATE RANKINGS FOR THE 2009 SESSION

2009 is the 30th year for the Oklahoma Constitution Newspaper’s Conservative Index. You can log on to their web site at www.oklahomaconstitution.com (click on the red box, upper right hand corner on their home page) to see the 10 pieces of legislation used for this year’s index. They will explain the grading system and you can then bring up the Senate or House scores and see how each lawmaker voted on each issue.

What I am going to show below is how they ranked or compared to each other from most conservative to least. I will show the Republicans first and then the Democrats. Following each name will be a number which will represent their score for this year’s index and the second number will represent their average score for however many years they have been in the legislature. On average, the Republican scores are down this year, because they are in charge and as such will either produce smaller and improved government or expand it like the Democrats have done in the past. Last year there was only one Senate RINO (Republican In Name Only) nominee, but not this year as there are many.

Senate Lawmaker of the year is Randy Brogdon of Owasso. Runner-up for lawmaker of the year is Anthony Sykes of Moore. Senate Freshman of the year is Anthony Sykes of Moore. Newcomer of the year is Gary Stanislawski of Tulsa. The RINO (Republican In Name Only) of the year is Patrick Anderson of Enid. There were six Democrat Senators that scored higher or tied Senator Anderson. There were also 19 Democrats in the House that tied or scored higher than Anderson. This is the second time he has won the RINO award in his 5 year career. Runner-up for RINO of the year is none other than two time RINO winner, Harry Coates of Seminole. Coates announced this past week that he is running to be the next President Pro Tem after Glen Coffee is term limited out of office. Others said to be looking at that position are Bingman and Crain. All I can say about that group of 3 is God help us if the Republican Senators don’t elect someone like Reynolds or Aldridge.

With the departure of Brogdon, they will be the only 2 conservatives with enough experience to serve as the leadership in the Senate.

+ WHY DID THE TURNPIKE AUTHORITY RAISE RATES?

It was announced a few weeks ago that the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority would raise rates an average of 16% on the 10 Turnpikes in Oklahoma.

They claimed that with the downturn in the economy there were not as many vehicles traveling our toll roads, especially trucks which pay higher fees and are supposedly where most of profitable revenues are generated. In addition, they said they hadn’t raised rates for 8 years or so, therefore it must be time to do so now!

Senator Randy Brogdon (R-Owasso) immediately suggested he would author legislation next year to bring the authority under legislative oversight and I couldn’t agree more with those sentiments.

I have several problems with the decision to raise those rates. An inside source has told me, the turnpike authority was still operating in the black without raising rates, even with the downturn. In addition, as of 2005 (the latest year I have their budget book) they were turning over an ever increasing amount to The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) each and every year. I believe the amount in

2005 was around 35 million dollars. That means the fees were high enough to cover all bonded indebtedness, maintenance, operations expenses and still have enough left over to give to ODOT. That actually means the fees were too high as ODOT doesn’t deserve a penny from the OTA.

When rates get too high, especially on trucks, they have in other states and to some degree here decided to take regular surface highways and stay off the expensive turnpikes. I have a friend who had an owner operator rig who used to take loads from the East Coast to one of the warehouses in the Ardmore area. Often times a truck is not allowed to arrive at a warehouse before an allotted time. If he was running ahead of schedule, he would not take the Will Rogers and Turner turnpikes because of the excessive cost. That will be even worse now that the rates have been raised. Truck traffic on 2 lane highways make them more dangerous and those highways usually haven’t been built to as high of standards as our turnpikes or interstate highways. Thus more damage to our 2 lane highways.

Another question I have is about the bonded indebtedness for the Turnpike system. If the bonds are staggered, surly some are paying off in a timely manner which will free up more of the revenues since those debts will no longer require payments.

Perhaps, the real concern for the citizens of Oklahoma may be a hidden agenda for the motive for increasing of the fees. In an August 11th article in the Edmond Sun there was discussion about privatizing Oklahoma worker compensation system know as “CompSource” along talk about privatizing our lottery systems and turnpikes. The following statement came from House Speaker Chris Benge: “Privatization of either the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority or the Oklahoma Lottery Commission would inevitably require a dramatic increase in both tolls and lottery sales in to MAXIMIZE THEIR VALUE AND ATTRACTIVENESS TO WALL STREET BANKERS,” Benge said.

Is there a possibility the real purpose for the increase is to make the OTA more attractive to someone in the private sector for a long term lease like several states have already done? Will that allow the state to get more up front money for such a lease? Also by raising the turnpike fees now, will that moderate the amount of fee increases a private vendor would impose upon drivers once they got control of our system?

The national average cost to travel on turnpikes is 9.4 cents per mile, but in Oklahoma it was only 4.7 cents per mile before the increase. Bottom line, if our lawmakers ever try to privatize our turnpike system, the consumers in Oklahoma will have to pay much higher fees. In addition, I believe should the turnpike system come under effective oversight and efficient management, the rates could actually go down as the bonded indebtedness is retired. Asking candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer and Attorney General where they stand on the issue of privatization of our turnpike system is something we should all do.

+ OKLAHOMA’S WEALTHIEST PERSON SPEAKS IN OKC

This past Tuesday, Tulsa’s George Kaiser, Chairman and majority shareholder of BOK Financial Corp. and head of Kaiser-Francis Oil made a rare public speaking appearance as he was the speaker at the downtown Rotary Club in OKC.

According to the Oklahoman he indicated he had two employees in his foundation seeking to get every dollar and more for Oklahoma’s fair share of the stimulus funds. He indicated his foundation along with personal trips to Washington had helped get more than $40 million extra dollars for Oklahoma. Kaiser is a very generous man, it was reported that last year only Warren Buffett and Bill Gates exceeded his charitable contributions.

The major theme of his giving is to help underprivileged children which certainly seems laudable. However I believe Kaiser to be very liberal and thus question the effectiveness of his giving, even though it is certainly his right to do. Early childhood development or education seems to be one of the major beneficiaries of his largess.

If I am not mistaken he has been the driving force behind a 3 year old pre-school pilot program in the Tulsa area.

In the paper he was quoted as saying: “We have a greater number of kids in early childhood education than any other state proportionally,” he said. “Its kind of nice to be known for something nationally that doesn’t emanate from (state Rep.) Sally Kern.”

Now for a few of my opinions. First off, I don’t know Mr. Kaiser, and probably never will. However, I do know State Representative Sally Kern and I have a lot more respect for her understanding of what is needed to benefit children in the education arena than that of Mr.

Kaiser. I wonder if Mr. Kaiser would be willing to dump tons of his own money as well as petition for taxpayer dollars into early education if he were to research the vast body of studies, many of which show that early childhood education helps children in the short run, but appears not to have any long term benefits?

I suspect Mr. Kaiser is either a secular or religious humanist and if so probably wouldn’t watch the DVD (FOUR CENTURIES OF AMERICAN EDUCATION by David Barton) which we showed at an OCPAC meeting a couple of weeks ago. Were he to watch it, and should the scales that I believe to cover his eyes fall off so that he could understand its message, he might totally re-arrange his efforts to help children and their families.

It may be a little foolish of me to say so, but I believe Sally Kern, a veteran teacher, may know more about the root problems in our education system than any other lawmaker in the state legislature, bare none. I also believe, if given a chance and the authority, she could probably do a better job at charting a course to improve education for children than any other lawmaker in the legislature. If I am correct in my assessment, I would suggest that Mr. Kaiser would be better off desiring to have 148 more lawmakers similar to Sally Kern, rather than to be wasting his time making snide remarks about her.

One final thought, again if I am correct in my opinion that he is a liberal, it is so typical when liberals efforts or propose policy that have unintended consequences. He appears to be so proud of the extra tens of millions of stimulus dollars his efforts have been able to bring to Oklahoma. However, I believe that money will soon be wasted on some liberal programs and then the kids he has a passion to help will be strapped with the soon coming heavy tax burden to pay back the heavy debt load Mr. Kaiser helped tie them to. We could call it debt slavery. Perhaps the saddest part is that the kids of today and tomorrow have no say in all this debt they are being put under. That is another form of taxation without representation.

+ MARK SHANNON ON TARGET BUT RADICAL?

Mark Shannon does the local afternoon drive talk radio show on KTOK’s 1000 AM from 4 until 7:00 p.m.. As with anyone on radio, there will always be things said that people will have some amount of disagreement. However, this past Monday and Wednesday, the only 2 days I had the time to listen, he produced some of the finest talk radio I have ever heard. On Monday his expose of the Industrial Areas Foundation and their efforts to co-opt some of the area churches for liberal political efforts, especially the Catholic churches was just excellent. It was so valuable and Mark did a stellar job reporting information from his friends that went to spy out the strategy discussed at a meeting influenced by this group.

On Wednesday, he really went after the Southern Poverty Law Center, exposing it as the fraudulent watchdog for which they lay claim.

Several years ago I went to hear the SPLC founder, Morris Dees, when he was speaking to a large crowd at OCU. At the time, I thought if an

F5 tornado dropped down and took out the place and everyone in it, almost every liberal leader in OKC along with a handful of conservatives like myself would be gone from OKC.

I am not going to say they have never exposed some bad folks. But from time to time the SPLC has some success in interfacing with law enforcement to push them toward declaring conservative groups as possible terrorists. People who are concerned about the second amendment, abortion, morality, honest money and other constitutional matters are usually nothing more than patriots concerned with the socialist direction in which America is headed.

This past Wednesday, the SPCL announced that the militia movement was on the rise again and that they were using face book and the internet for recruitment. Mark stood up for the militias and suggested a measured push back against the federal government’s unconstitutional mandates that are making us all slaves.

It was great radio and Mark always peppers it with humor even thought he is dead serious about much of what he is saying. Besides his normal humor, on Wednesday it was quite humorous as he sounded more radical than R.J. Harris or any of the “Paulies” he regularly likes to thump.

All I can say is keep it up Mark, it was truly great talk radio especially your more radical parts.

+ THE EXCSSES OF THE OBAMAS

During the election cycle last year, then candidate Obama indicated Americans weren’t going to be able eat as much or drive the big cars like we have been able to do in the past. It appears he meant that those changes in lifestyle were for all Americans except himself, his family and of course close friends or his favorite entertainers.

When Bill Clinton was in the White House, his obvious excesses were women. I really couldn’t identify an excess for George W. Bush, maybe someone can help me out with that, but the excess of the Obamas is becoming crystal clear for anyone with the intellectual honesty to admit it.

Since the Obama’s have been in office there have been an endless number of vacations, and expensive trips only to be exceeded by an endless train of pop culture entertainers or movie stars performing in the White House, like hordes of court jesters playing for royalty. I understand that the Obamas must have security when they travel and therefore it is very expensive. However, I must ask, do they not even have a twinge of guilt at spending so many taxpayer dollars for their pleasures when our nation is bankrupt and many people are suffering greatly because of the recession? Probably not, because people with an arrogant attitude of royalty never do.

I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday

+ AGENDA FOR THIS WEEK’S MEETING

Our noon luncheon for Wednesday, August 5th will be held at Italiano’s Restaurant, 4801 North Lincoln in OKC. This week we will view the 60 minute DVD, Four Centuries of American Education by David Barton. The people of America were once the best educated in the world. However, statistics clearly show that the more secular education becomes the less successful it is academically. Please try to arrive early as we will start the program at 12:05 to view the program in its entirety by 1:05.

+ ANNOUNCEMENTS

OKC AREA - Monday evening August 3rd there will be an “Introduction to Activism through the John Birch Society” meeting held at the Northside Bible Church, 1401 Northwest 100 street. (NW 100th and McKinley) The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and is an excellent opportunity to find out information about the John Birch Society and its efforts to restore Constitutional government to our nation.

ADA AREA - Also on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. the Ada area Tea Party organizers will meet at the Ada Chamber of Commerce, 207 West Main Street in the Community Room. I have been asked to attend to discuss methods of finding out what candidates stand for and how to select the most liberty minded constitutionalists for both state and federal office. The Tea Party organizers in that area would be most willing to have other concerned Americans attend who are shocked as to how we are losing the wonderful heritage of our nation.

PAULS VALLEY - Tuesday evening there will be a presentation of “Introduction to Activism through the John Birch Society” at the Pauls Valley Library, 210 North Willow Street. Again the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be a great time to learn about the Society from its advocates rather than its critics.

OKC AREA - This Thursday evening 7:00 p.m., the Oklahoma City 912 Project will meet at the American Legion facility at 5000 Southeast 24th in Midwest City. I have been asked to speak to the group about Necessary Education and Effective Political Activism. The 912 folks have done some great work recently by countering demonstrations by groups on the left. Again, these are folks concerned about the growing tyranny of the federal government and the need to get involved. More Americans must re-arrange their lives to make sure they have some time for patriotic activism or we will never be able to reclaim the greatness of our nation.

MIDWEST CITY AREA - Not this week but starting Thursday, August 13th the 10 annual Freedom 21 Conference will roll into Oklahoma for the first time. The 3 day Conference will be held at the Reed Conference Center, 5750 Will Rogers Road in Midwest City. Over the 3 days there will be over 20 speakers with only 3 from Oklahoma. The cost to bring so many top speakers to Oklahoma, pay for the facility and advertise the event is significant. Therefore, there is a cost to attend, but well worth hearing these top experts speak about their respective fields. The cost to attend the full conference with meals is $295, the full conference without meals is just $95, there is a special student price of $45. For reservations log on to www.freedom21.org.

Some of the speakers are as follows: Former Constitution Party Candidate, Chuck Baldwin will talk about the attacks on the freedom movement and how to fight back. Michael Chapman (Chapman was a speaker at the first 2 re-claiming Oklahoma for Christ seminars) will speak about President Obama and the UN agenda to control American education.

Senator Randy Brogdon will speak about the North American Super Corridor Organization. Dan Byfield will talk about how coordination is protecting people locally and his experience with the Trans Texas Corridor fight. Dr. Michael Coffman, author of several books, will be talking about globalism and global governance. Tom DeWeese’s talk will be about globally acceptable truth and the crime of thinking (political correctness run amok). State Representative Charles Key will talk about the states sovereignty movement. Mark Lerner will speak about the efforts to create an international ID and global information sharing. Dr. Jeff Marrongelle will discuss how the feds are stealing health care choices. Judith McGeary will expose the agenda rapped up in HR 875, the National Animal Identification System (NAIS). Mark Morano will unravel the climate change hoax. Larry Pratt, founder of Gun Owners of America (the no compromise second amendment

advocates) will speak about Real ID and Gun Control. Dr. Allen Quist, author of FED ED (highly documented book about the federal takeover of local schools) will speak about how our history has been censored out of our classrooms. Representative Sam Rohrer (R-Pa) will talk about federal control of driver’s licenses and fusion centers. Craig Rucker will reveal how students are taking action on campuses and at international conferences. Michael Shaw will speak about fiat money and the sustainability movement. Amanda Teegarden will talk about OK- SAFE and citizen involvement in the legislative process. Patrick Wood will discuss some of the attacks on the freedom movement and how to fight back. One last speaker that I am aware of will be G. Edward Griffin, author of the book, CREATURE FROM JECKLE ISLAND, the definitive work about the Federal Reserve and its effect upon our economy and culture.

This was quite an accomplishment through the efforts of OK-SAFE to get this conference to be held in Oklahoma, so I hope folks will make every effort to attend.

MIDWEST CITY AREA - On Thursday evening August 13th, a week from this Thursday, there will be a special dinner to focus attention on Oklahoma’s very difficult ballot access laws. This past November, Oklahoma was the only state not to have more than 2 names on the ballot for President. Speaking will be Chuck Baldwin of Pensacola, Florida, who was the 2008 presidential candidate for the Constitution Party.

The dinner is being sponsored by The Free & Equal Elections Foundation to draw attention to HB 1072, sponsored by Randy Brogdon in the Senate and Charles Key in the house. Senator Brogdon along with Christina Tobin of Chicago, founder of the Free & Equal Elections Foundation will also be speaking. The dinner will start at 6:30 p.m and will cost $50 per person to attend. The location will be the Joyner Room at the Sheraton Hotel Reed Conference Center, 5750, Will Rogers Road in Midwest City. For reservations contact Thom Holmes at (918) 866-2256 or contact him by e-mail at holmesta@hotmail.com.

TULSA AREA - Again, week after next there will be a banquet sponsored by Gun Owners of America to honor U.S. Senator Tom Coburn. Senator Coburn was able to amend the credit card reform bill to allow citizens with concealed carry permits to be able to carry their arms while visiting or driving through national parks and bureau of land management properties. This was a most important coup by Senator Coburn.

If you would like to attend the banquet log on www.gunowners.org/okcoburn for reservations, or call (571) 216-6404. This event will be on Friday evening, August 14th with the reception starting at 6:30 and the banquet beginning at 7:30 p.m. The location will be the Southern Hills Marriott, 1902 East 71st, in Tulsa. The cost is $75 for one person or

$135 for a couple. Some of the proceeds will go to the re-election campaign for Senator Coburn and some of it will go to support Gun Owners of America (GOA), in my opinion, a far better 2nd Amendment organization than the NRA. I know folks that support both organizations, but if I had to be a member of only one, it would be GOA.

+ OBAMA, DECEIVER IN CHIEF, ENABLED BY “USEFUL IDIOTS”

I listened to President Obama the first couple of times he was allowed to go on TV to spread his disinformation. However, I have stopped as it only makes me mad to watch or listen. Not mad at Obama, as I expect him to lie, cheat and deceive, as do all good little Marxists, Fascists or Communists. After all, their values system works on the premise that the “end justifies the means.” So spreading lies, cheating or deceiving is perfectly acceptable if it helps them to achieve their ultimate goal.

What makes me mad is the useful idiots or in other words the liberal main stream press. During the cold war the Communists coined the term “useful idiots” to describe fellow travelers or any na├»ve sucker who would help them spread their propaganda, often times without knowing how they were being used. In Obama’s case, the press continually allows him to make statements which just don’t represent reality.

Case in point, this past week during a press conference, some reporter dared press the President on a sticky question about his massive spending and rapid debt increase. Obama, out slicked the reporter by his usual reference back to the Bush administration. In this case he referred to the 1.3 Trillion dollar deficit handed to him by the previous administration.

The following is what a real reporter would have done and how a real group of journalists would have reacted to the expected response from the White House. A real reporter would have insisted on a follow up with this statement: Excuse me Mr. President, how can you say that when you understand the process. You know that any President can only PROPOSE legislation and spending bills. In reality those bills must be authored by congressmen and passed by both houses of Congress. Then and only then does a President have an opportunity to either sign or veto such legislation. With that in mind, why do you blame the deficit you received on the previous administration when the legislation signed by former President Bush was pushed through Congress by Speaker Pelosi in the House and Harry Reid in the Senate? Both Democrats leaders were in control the last 2 years of President Bush’s term and are the same two people responsible today for putting massive deficit spending bills on your desk? Why is it Mr. President that you duck the reality of the situation rather than speak truth to the American people?

Of course at that point President Obama would stutter around since his teleprompter wouldn’t be programmed for such a question. After he hastily exited such a press conference, he would give explicit instructions to his staff that the reporter with such embarrassing questions is to never be allowed to attend another press conference.

Of course at that time, all real journalists, backed by their news outlets would then tell the white house that there would be no more press reports put in the public domain until such a ban was lifted on the journalist who was simply doing his or her job. I know better than to hold my breath until such journalistic honesty and integrity comes along.

+ FORMER SENATOR SCOTT PRUITT MAY RUN FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL?

This past week I was contacted by a couple of people to let me know that former Senator Pruitt was looking at the Attorney General race which will be an open seat as Drew Edmondson has decided to run for Governor rather than re-election as AG.

During the 2006 election cycle Senator Pruitt decided not to run for his last term in the Senate, but to run for Lt. Governor. He lost a close race in the primaries to then Speaker of the House Todd Hiett.

Pruitt is from Tulsa but has been the general manager and minority owner of the Oklahoma Redhawks professional baseball team in OKC for several years now.

Someone has set up a draft Pruitt web sit if you would like to participate in such an effort. The address is: http://www.pruitt4okag.blogspot.com.

The first announced Republican candidate for the AG office is Ryan Leonard. Mr. Leonard is the son of former State Senator and Federal Judge Tim Leonard. Ryan was an aide to former U.S. Senator Don Nickles and currently has a private law practice. The most recent financial reports showed Mr. Leonard having raised about $155,000 with a good number of high profile endorsements, though some of those endorsements came from well known Democrats such as Andy Coates.

If Pruitt gets into the race it will make for an interesting primary, with the eventual winner most likely being the stronger of the two candidates. I don’t know who the Democrats will put up for the office as I am sure they are disappointed that their stallion, Drew Edmondson will not run for that post again.
